  First time Cruiser by
grace s from Joplin, MO Sailing date: Jan 2010Pros: Great Staff. service and activities Cons: lack of single men Our cruise was to be a 5 day cruise but due to bad weather we were at sea nearly an extra day. Our last day at sea was rough but the rest of our cruise was wonderful . the weather was nice and we had 2 ports of call. We enjoyed the ports, the service the weather. We took an excursion in Cozumel and had such a wonderful time.
I did not like the prices of the drinks and I think the first day they made them rather stout but after that I think they were lacking in strength for the cost.
We had heard that Carnival was the Party boat but we never found the party. There were not alot of children on the boat (less than 200) . there were alot of senior folks. We were hoping to find singles looking to hang out and never did find that kind of activity. They had 1 single meet and greet on the first night and not many ppl attended but married couples.
We are planning to take another cruise during a different time of year and see if we can do better at finding singles activities.
Because the ship was over 12 hours late the debarkment was rather hurried with long waits and tired custom people and carnival people in the terminal. It was chaos after we left the ship. I heard alot of first time cruisers saying they would never cruise again but even with all that we went through that last day I am still looking at booking my next cruise. Ship Qualityeverything was clean and nice. Dining/Foodwe loved eating in the main dining room. the service and quality of food there was outstanding. The only thing I did not like was the under cooked lamb and the steamed vegetables were not cooked long enough.
the food at the buffet was good but I just did not find things that were suitable for my palate. Maybe I am picky. I did enjoy the sushi a few nights. Stateroom QualityOur stateroom was an inside interior at the very front of the upper deck. I would not recommend a room at that part of the ship. we had some bad weather and we felt it all from there. You also feel the pulling into and out of ports the dropping of the anchor etc.
Our room was always made up. Ship Staff Qualityeveryone was friendly. we had an extra 12 hours at sea due to bad weather and it was surprising how fast they came up with activities and things for us to do to keep us busy till we could get into the port.
Entertainment & ActivitiesAbsolutely loved the shows. The first show was a variety of music and I found it more exciting than the show of Beatles music. The costumes and set was wonderful. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Fantasy Cruise by
Howard S. from Hendersonville, TN Sailing date: Jan 2010Pros: The workers aboard ship were outstanding. My daughter ask to bring home the statesroom stewart Cons: One night of bad weather The carnival cruise line is the best. My entire family and in-laws had a marvelous time. It was our first time on a cruise and the staff exceeded our expectations. Any time one of us had a questions or needed help with anything, it seem that every member of the ship could help. We were pampered like kings and queens.
definitely will cruise with carnival again!!! Ship QualityIt seemed that the stewart was under the bed waiting for you to leave your room and as soon as you came back you discovered great things in your room. animals made out of towels, beds made, candy treats everything tidied up, bathroom spotless. IT was great Dining/FoodDon't expect to go on a cruise and not gain a pound or two. I have never seen such great quality and quantity of food. If you go to bed at night hungry it is your own fault. Stateroom QualityWe were on the inner stateroom and it was great. Definitely stay toward the back of the ship. Ship Staff QualityThere are not enough great words to describe the staff.... Awesome Entertainment & ActivitiesThe entertainment and activities onboard were excellent. Comedy, laughter and don't forget the bingo. Singing, dancing and lots of cruisers interaction. Children's ProgramsWe had our 14 yr old daughter and 16 yr old son and they were amazed. That is great if you have teenagers and know how hard it seems to be to please them. Thanks Carnival Fantasy Staff 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  Great Cruise by
Jim B. from Covington, Ky Sailing date: Dec 2009Pros: Ports of Call Cons: Cold weather in Mobil harbor Great lay out of ship. Easy to "navigate:. Ship QualityHave been on 5 larger Carnival ships and enjoyed them all. But for this a smaller
ship I was not disapointed The decor was great and the cleanliness was excelent. Dining/FoodWas never disapointed in any of the meals. Whether in the dinning room or the
lido deck buffett. Stateroom QualityStateroom was very adequate. Only complaint (but I understand) the oceanview window was coated with a film that made it hard to see outside. I was on the Riverea deck. Ship Staff QualityThe dining room waiter and assistant were excellent and with the great personallities added much to the experience of dining there. The stateroom steward was always
friendly and when their duties called for them to do their duties of cleaning the room
they were always attentive to their work. Entertainment & ActivitiesEntertainment was of good quality. Even the first holiday show of the season. And including the children and youngsters in the program was a great success. The talent show was of good quality. Enjoyed the band in the hall way and in the lobby.
Got home and while getting my hair cut met the trombone player of the band getting his hair cut at the same time. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

  Fantastic Cruise by
Becky & Mark from Atlanta, GA Sailing date: Dec 2009Pros: Everything was there to provide a relaxing vacation. Cons: Hard to see the shows from the balcony but the shows were excellent. Our cruise on the Fantasy was a very relaxing, wonderful way to celebrate Christmas. We have cruised 5 - 6 times before and this was our first cruise on the Carnival line. Embarkation in Mobile was a breeze - 45 minutes from arrival at the port to getting on the ship. The ship was very clean and updated and the staff were wonderfully helpful at all times. Food was very good with a good variety both in the dining room and the buffet. Ship QualityThe ship was very clean and easy to manuever around. Dining/FoodFood was excellent with a good variety at each meal. The stewards entertained each night with a song or dance. The buffet for breakfast and lunch had a good variety. Stateroom QualityStaterooms were clean with comfortable beds and plenty of closet space Ship Staff QualityStaff were exceptional. Always there to provide whatever we needed. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe shows were excellent - very high quality. There were activities going on all day long. With a full ship there were still always chairs available if you wanted to sit out on the deck. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  We're Hooked! by
Stephanie H. from New Hampshire Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: the fabulous service everywhere on the ship (how they remember our names is a mystery!), cleanliness and general luxury aura of the ship, food was terrific- absolutely no complaints Cons: would have liked earlier options for club/lounge dancing.. we had the early seating for dinner and when we finished (~8PM) we had to wait til 10:30 or so for dancing and clubs to get lively.. by then we had lost our steam! The Fantasy was absolutely perfect, esp for a first cruise. It offered lots of options for dining (all fabulous, even the buffets) and entertainment, without being overwhelming. The Serenity Adults only area was great for relaxing and chatting with other guests. The service was amazing.. unbelievable. Ship QualitySparkling clean and beautiful. The decor was upgraded, not tacky. The public bathrooms were clean and nicely done. Dining/FoodNever had a bad dish. Everything was tasty and cooked well. Always well-stocked and fresh. We didn't go to a specialty restaurant, we dined in the dining room (Jubilee) and in the Windows by the Sea (buffet). Both were always great. The buffet should not be dismissed as an option.. they had great options.. not just burgers, etc. Nice full meals, great salad bars, dessert bars, etc. Stateroom QualityWow. So nicely taken care of. We felt absolutely pampered. Picked up, refreshed, cleaned.. twice a day! The bed was wonderful, the bathroom was roomy enough. Good closet space. Ship Staff QualityThe best part of all. We took the time to chat with our steward and a few of the bartenders/waitstaff. They remembered our names and our drink preferences. Our steward was so professional and kind. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe did not go to any of the shows, but did have fun in the casino, had drinks in several of the bars, and did the shore excursion (we went snorkeling in Cozumel and had a blast!). Being our first cruise, we just walked around a lot and people-watched, checked in on this and that. Loved it. 4 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

  A wonderful surprise by
Charlene S. from LaGrange, GA Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: The Serenity Area Cons: No "Non Smoking" lounges The ship was wonderful. I am not usually impressed by Carnival, but this was a wonderful surprise. The Serenity area had cushioned chaise lounges on the Promanade deck. Wonderful area for relaxing and reading, and it's adults only. Their "Your Time Dining" was excellent and we always got to sit with our own party. Service, as always, was impeccable and the staff were all friendly.
The ship, staff, activities, and food were all better than any other Carnival cruise I've been on. I would definitely recommend this ship. Ship QualityThe staff/crew all seemed to be "going the extra mile" to make this the best ship ever. Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityEven had a flat screen TV and current movies were shown during the week. Ship Staff Quality

The Fantasy ship is A Amamzing Cruise!!! by
Patricia S from Leesville Louisiana Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: With this being my first one ever, I love it all Cons: there wasn't anything. This was my very First time ever going on a Cruise, and I am very Happy that I pick the Fantasy to go on. Even With the Storm that popped it's head out, I would do it all over again. Wow is all that keeps popping up in my head. I would Tell everyone I know and run into to thanks a trip pn the Fantasy. I am ever please with it. The Plays everynight was out of this world, and they worked really hard to make sure we were all please. and All the worker was amazing, there to please and make up smile at all time. If I ever get to go on another Cruise I will have to pick the Fantasy again, even thought I am sure I would like to see the others, I Enjoy this one more then words can say. Ship QualityI love the layout and all. Dining/FoodIt was better then I thoguht it would be. Stateroom QualityI enjoy my room, it was just right and for I did more over the time it was a ok location, just a little to far from my dining room but the walk was always a happy one Ship Staff QualityThey all went out of thier way to make sure all was happy and smiling. Entertainment & ActivitiesI Enjoy it all. LOL I even try to hide from the camer and it got me a few time. The Late night Shows was out of this world Children's ProgramsI can't say anything about this one for I don't have any kids with me, but from what I seen I am sure the kids that was there had a great time 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Fun with Friends by
Kathy C from Louisiana Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: People Cons: food and drinks!!! Rooms were 100% clean everytime we went to the cabin! Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. The only food that was edible was the pumpkin squash pot pie which was incredibly yummy. Coffee bitter, tea had a 'wang taste'. Scared to drink the water. A drawing for prizes was obviously rigged, which surprised me! My opinion does not count, but that is how it was. My first cruise in 1991 was taken on the Fantasy with my husband who recently died. This cruise does not even compare with the one in 1991. Ship Quality
