Excellent! by
A Traveler from San Jose CA Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: The itinerary and the Cosmopolitan dining room Cons: The worn out stateroom Unbelievable Mediterranean itinerary, although ports are very customized for using the Celebrity excursions--if you want to be on your own there are many logistics to be worked out and Celebrity has no one to help. Some ports (Naples) not in good areas. On and off ship was most efficient we ever experienced. Our room was worn but the staff tries to keep it nice, and common areas are still well done, although not dramatic. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodEvery dinner in the Cosmopolitan dining room was delicious--our waiter and assistant were outstanding, and their recommendations on the food were spot on. Mediocre food at the buffet, not enough, lukewarm, short of coffee, coffee cups, utensils. Not enough food areas open when returning from an excursion, not enough seating. Stateroom QualityRather small for a balcony room, and the overhang from the Resort deck and the bridge blocked a lot of the view. Carpet, upholstery and linens worn. Toilet broke twice, and a horrible smell had to be researched and fixed before we could move in. Ship Staff QualityCosmopolitan dining room staff is wonderful. Other than that, ship is understaffed. Always had to wait for any other service type. Customer desk acts responsive but in truth is not. We preordered some packages and had to ask for them three times over two days. Entertainment & ActivitiesPlenty of entertainment, very talented performers in every venue of the ship. Very limited activities, but those are not import when nearly every day is spent at a Mediterranean port. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Our First Cruise and a great experience. by
John R. & Mary K. Allen from Muskegon, MI Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: The Tour Itinerary Cons: Our first Cruise -Deck 2, aft cabin, next to noisy storage room and engines The staff was courteous and attentive.

Stateroom QualityWe were located on deck 2, aft, next to storage room, difficult for sleeping, too much noise from motors, moving of equipment etc. Would not ever be in that location again. Noisy throughout the entire night. Ship Staff Quality

  An amazing cruise by
Jerry Z from Kenosha, WI Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: The ports of calls were everything I expected and more. Cons: The smallest staterooms I've ever been in. The ports of call were amazing. This is a trip I will remember for the rest of my life! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodDiner buffet was very limited, and therefore you were almost forced to eat in the formal dining room which can be very difficult after a long excursion. Stateroom QualitySmallest balcony stateroom we've had on 8 cruises. The stateroom service was excellent, and I especially liked that they didn't leave their service carts in the hallways like Carnival often does. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesI think you're trying to cater to sophisticated crowd by bring in violinist, pianoist, and soloist, but those nights there were hardly anyone there. Children's ProgramsMy daughter said the counselor they had did obsolutely nothing with them. On the last night she was looking forward to making t-shirts, and this activity like several others never happened. She was very disappointed about this.

  A little disappointed by
Michele C from hahah I dont think so Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: The sightseeing Cons: The food on the boat and our matradee 7 years ago we took a celebrity cruise that was unbelievable. I have to say our last cruise just last week for a 2 week european tour was disappointing. The food was mediocre. And finding a live worm in my salad at dinner was the final straw for me. Our waiter was wonderful and so was our asst waiter. But the Matradee was terrible. No manners and clearly out for himself. He was rude and obnoxious. Ship Quality
Dining/Foodfood choices for in room dining was terrible and so was finding a worm in my salad at our dinner in the main dining room. I expected a better compensation. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Qualityas said above, waiter and asst waiter were exceptional. our matradee was not at all!!! Entertainment & Activities

  sleepless on the summit by
A Traveler from va Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: the wait staff Cons: the loud noises from 3-6 am rooms 2181 & 2185 are right under the washing kitchens just before the crew cabins. They have been there from the begining so they most likely have heard complaints of the very loud banging and scraping noises from about 3am --5 or 6 am. My son came running in scared there was something wrong with the ship. My daughter had a nightmare. We reported the noise but we were confused with fatuige as to the location. By the 3rd time of them telling me they didn't know where it could be coming from. I put on my robe at 3:30 in the morning and went in search of it and found it right away. Then went to guest services and asked if they could hold it down. I understand things have to be washed but they don't have to slam things around and into those big metal sinks and scrape stuff across the floors. It sounded like big garbage trucks banging dumpsters half the night. I started going to sleep around 10pm to get a jump on the noise and it still made for 4
crabby clients. WHATEVER YOU DO WHEN YOU BOOK FIND OUT WHERE THE DISH WASHING IS!!!!! No one told us and we really thought this was going to be the vacation of our lives. It turned into a night mare. Ship Quality

  Celebrity??????? by
Paula C. from Lake Orion, MI Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: Getting on and off the ship no long lines Cons: Service, food, lack of acitivites in general Poor drink service everywhere on board. The food was average at best. Not enough to do on board as far as activities for adults or teens/kids. This was unlike any other Celebrity cruise we've ever been on ......sub par for them, very disapointing and embarrasing as we brought friends who had never sailed Celebrity and have heard us say nothing but great things in the past. Bridgetown, BarbadosI would recommend the Boatyard Beach...however, don't expect to have a beach chair. They have a very low quantity of chairs considering the amount of visitors that they receive.
St. George's, GrenadaVery friendly people. Spice excursion very interesting.
Roseau, DominicaA 3 hour excursion turned into a 4 hour excursion with the majority of our time spent riding in the back of a rugged taxi van.
Scarborough, Tobago
Philipsburg, St. MaartenThe beach by the airport was very interesting (watching the planes land overhead) and fun. My teenagers had a blast.

  No Frills- No Activities! by
A Traveler from Bradenton, FL Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: Seemed to be plenty of comfortable pool chairs and many spa servcies were free Cons: Most everything else! At first glance, the ship is beautiful. Other than that, you are on your own. No cute towel animal in your room at night and no cholocolate at turn down. Spa tries to charge you for service areas that are free and guilts you into buying take home items after payable treatment telling you "what you just paid for will not help if you don't buy and follow up with their EXPENSIVE products". Husbands & wife's be careful, they will see you the same items to take home to the same place. Formal dining is unfriendly and food leaves A LOT to be desired. We ordered a birthday cake for an 18th birthday traveler with us to be delivered to our tabel obn a specific night, it arrived to our stateroom 2 days later to be eaten on the bed with paper plates and no staff presentation. Drinks and Bingo are VERY over priced compared to other cruise lines and all activities seem to be booked at the same time so you can only pick one, then either go to the casino or watch TV in your stateroom. Activities need to be spread out. Not enough scheduled for older teenagers to do. Otherwise, the room as clean and it was easy to get on and off the ship with no waiting and no issues. I would NOT recommend this ship or Celebrity again. We have been on about 15 cruises now, all over the world, and on various lines, but this one was by far the worse overall and most boring. Staff was not friendly either and NEVER went out of their way to help or see if you needed anything, and when they did, they toook FOREVER! We were actually late for Bingo just waiting for the bartender to pour 2 glasses of champagne on our way into the hall as they had no wait/bar staff in the game to serve drinks.
Only select this cruise line or ship if you are traveling with older adults who want to relax, have all night to get served, don't really care about the quality of the food or the activities scheduled on board.

Bridgetown, BarbadosWe had been there for a week a few years ago and love it here. Beautiful island, nice people. Beaches are beautiful but unles you go to Turtle Beach or Tanmarid, there is no real shore snorkeling. Bridgeton is VERY busy but shops are nice and prioces are not bad either. Again, beautiful island!
Don't Miss: See all that you can. Malibu Rum Factory, Caves, Old working sugar wind mill. St. George's, GrenadaBefore you hit the island, walk into town a few blocks each way to the grocery and get some spices. While the locals may fight over who will be your taxi for hire, which is a bit overwhelming, they are very nice once you select one. Frome the ship you can walk in town a bit and see the old church that is accepting donations to be restored as well as Fort George. Then hire a taxi, for a pre negotiated rate, to do about a 1 hour island tour with you to also get some local information as to how theyu live. Have them take you to a beach, although stay away from the Black Sand Beach and don't pay until they take you back to the ship. They may make you feel guilty about a samll tip, but just walk away. They won't follow.
Roseau, DominicaHired a local to drive you around for a few hours, tell you about the island and take you to Trafalgar Falls for s short hike and water fall view. then have them drop you at a beach for a short day of fun and sun before heading back to the boat. You pay at the end so there is no need to worry about not having a ride back in time. The locals are very proud of their country and how self sufficient they are and have no problem politiely telling you this. They are very non-aggressive people.
Scarborough, TobagoWhat a terrible place. Smelled like a toilet! Totally not what we expected!
Don't Miss: Nothing that we saw. Did not miss a thing that we were aware of. Philipsburg, St. MaartenBeautiful. People were freindly. Go to Oyster Bay where St Matrin and Saint Marteen meet. Bushy's Bar rents chairs, unbrellas and cold Carib's for $2.00.

  Disappointing Cruise by
Don S. from Conyers, GA Sailing date: Mar 2009Pros: Padded lounge chairs at indoor pool , Stir Fry at buffet and Free Homemade Ice Cream Cons: Food Quality and Lack of Food Selections; Lack of Cleanliness of Buffet Area As veterans of 16 previous cruises and 6 different cruise lines, we found the Summit very disappointing. Ship QualityThe ships layout was easy to navigate, but the cleanliness fell short of other cruise lines. Dining/FoodFood in the Cosmopolitan and buffet was Below Par. Prime Rib and Lobster were tasteless. Breakfast the eggs were cold and most of the juice machines were either Out of Order or out of juice. We only found orange juice 1 out of 7 mornings. The buffet tables were not wiped clean as we found food crumbs on the tables. Stateroom QualityOur shower walls and curtain had mildew on them. Ship Staff QualityPoolside waiters did not hassel you for drinks every 5 minutes like on other ships. A definite plus. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe shows were average Except for the Airobatics couple who were Excellant and the first time we have seen an act like that on any other cruise line. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

  A bit disappointing by
Pat D. from Raleigh,NC Sailing date: Mar 2009Pros: The ports of call Cons: Lukewarm food on the buffet. dirty tables at the pool Overall the ship was okay. We found the buffet to be the most disappointing. The pasta and pizza were served lukewarm. The reataurant food was wonderful and good variety. Handwashing stations were at the restaurant and buffet but not at the pool grill. Those tables were cleared (barely) and not washed off on a regular basis. It was difficult to reach many items so you had to wait to be served. Our stateroom toilet seat needed to be replaced (paint chipped) although the rest of the stateroom was fine. The overall condition of the ship was okay. Ship Quality
Dining/Foodreally depends where you chose to dine. The lack of sanitation around the pool area i.e. the quickness to pick-up dirty dishes and wash the tables was a real issue for us. Stateroom Qualityexcept for the toilet seat, the room was good. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activitiesjuggler/comedian was great
