The Fantasy ship is A Amamzing Cruise!!! by
Patricia S from Leesville Louisiana Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: With this being my first one ever, I love it all Cons: there wasn't anything. This was my very First time ever going on a Cruise, and I am very Happy that I pick the Fantasy to go on. Even With the Storm that popped it's head out, I would do it all over again. Wow is all that keeps popping up in my head. I would Tell everyone I know and run into to thanks a trip pn the Fantasy. I am ever please with it. The Plays everynight was out of this world, and they worked really hard to make sure we were all please. and All the worker was amazing, there to please and make up smile at all time. If I ever get to go on another Cruise I will have to pick the Fantasy again, even thought I am sure I would like to see the others, I Enjoy this one more then words can say. Ship QualityI love the layout and all. Dining/FoodIt was better then I thoguht it would be. Stateroom QualityI enjoy my room, it was just right and for I did more over the time it was a ok location, just a little to far from my dining room but the walk was always a happy one Ship Staff QualityThey all went out of thier way to make sure all was happy and smiling. Entertainment & ActivitiesI Enjoy it all. LOL I even try to hide from the camer and it got me a few time. The Late night Shows was out of this world Children's ProgramsI can't say anything about this one for I don't have any kids with me, but from what I seen I am sure the kids that was there had a great time 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Fun with Friends by
Kathy C from Louisiana Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: People Cons: food and drinks!!! Rooms were 100% clean everytime we went to the cabin! Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. The only food that was edible was the pumpkin squash pot pie which was incredibly yummy. Coffee bitter, tea had a 'wang taste'. Scared to drink the water. A drawing for prizes was obviously rigged, which surprised me! My opinion does not count, but that is how it was. My first cruise in 1991 was taken on the Fantasy with my husband who recently died. This cruise does not even compare with the one in 1991. Ship Quality

  Average cruise by
Pamela J. from Annapolis Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: The cost Cons: Ports of call, food, and too many children for the time of year The ship I had been re-modeled recently so I was very impressed with the sleeping rooms. the bathrooms \had been enlarged since the last time I was on the ship and that was wonderful. The furniture was new, and all new bedding like the Hampton Inns. Very nice, and very comfortable. Ship QualityNot much remodeling had been done on the public areas and that was very noticeable. Dining/Foodthe main thing Carnival needs to work on! Once again we ate in the dining room just one night as the food was terrible, so why not eat where you can wear what you want? Stateroom QualityNewly remodeld, new bedding, new furniture, larger bathroom. Ship Staff QualityThe service staff is always friendly; the maitre d' is still phony, never see the Captain, room steward was excellent. Entertainment & ActivitiesAlthough it was a different show every night, it was the same lead singers. By the end of the cruise (5days) they sounded terrible. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Good cruise, Great Price by
GHD from BR, LA Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: The price was low, the ship was clean Cons: Food was fair, entertainment lacking After all, for $250 for 5 days this cruise was priced right. But, I guess you get what you pay for. As with other Carnival cruises we have taken, there is a lack of things to do during the day, unless you like to gamble. While the food was good, the variety was not there nor were there any "Wow" meals. The staff was friendly but again, not as friendly as on other cruises we have taken.
As noted, the ship was very well maintained, even if older.
So if you are just looking to take a cruise to get away, you can't go wrong. Ship Quality

Wow - What a Fun Trip ! by
Marie W. from Birmingham, AL Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: Amazing Cabin in a small space Cons: Nothing I had never been on a cruise - didn't really ever desire to go on one. I was amazed at how comfy and clean our cabin was, and how clean the entire ship was. There were people working around the clock to maintain the image. It was fun to navigate the ship - find all the different areas to entertain ourselves - and Wow - the food was excellent and plentiful. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe food was excellent in all areas - but our sit down dinners in the evening were absolutely fabulous. Great menus, and my favorite - wonderful desserts. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityI simply was completely impressed by the entire staff on the ship. EVERYONE smiled and greeted all the passengers - and what hard workers they all were. Our wait staff in the dining room was funny, excellent, attentive - Our group of six loved them !! Entertainment & ActivitiesVERY fun !! I participated in more "stuff" in four days than I have in the last six months "off" the ship. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

  Another First Time by
A Traveler from dallas Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: Being Pampered Cons: Only 24 hours in the day This was my first cruise and had heard and read all sorts of horror stories. Long lines to get on, bad food, bad service, hassles to get off the ship etc. The 26 family members on this cruise had none of that. All the staff from start to finish were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The rooms were better than i could imagine, the food nicely prepared and bountiful and the entertainment excellent. It was a wonderful 5 days....... can't wait to do it again. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodDinner was a treat each night thanks to the staff. Stan the Man rocks. Stateroom QualityBigger than expected..... and always ready for bedtime with a nice little towel creature. I couldn't wait until i saw the next day. Ship Staff QualityEvery staff member encountered said hello... and asked if they could help. Amazing.... they could have easily looked the other way. Entertainment & ActivitiesChristina in Karakoe is a "Superstar". What a blast. Audience participation is a must. Also, you want to learn blackjack....get Marian as a dealer, or Ivan. They were Great... they handle you with kid gloves. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

A piece of heaven on erath. by
Samira G.S from West Bloomfield, MI Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: We really enjoyed the food, the adu;t activities, kid Carnival activities, and most importaantly the staff and their positive attitude and willingness to accommedate you. Cons: Limited shops on borad and when people drink a great deal they forgst that there are children on borad. The trip was simply to go and have fun and relax. Which was what we did. We had a wonderful staff in the eraly dinning room. Especially in the Jublilee Dinning room. The two people that come to mind are Eric and Jasmina. Always happy and smiling and were very personable and took care of our 8 year old and know she had food allergies and made recommendation when possible. Nice touch. We would go back and do it again.
We enjoyed it and keep up the good positive experiences going.
Samira Gumma-Swiatkowski Ship QualityThe bathrooms up on one of the decks (by the pool) could have been cleaner and more supplies. Dining/FoodThe food was unique and very testy not to mention the presentation. Different theme at different days. I liked the formal day where everyone gets to dress up and you can see smiles and happiness in the air. It felt like we were one BIG happy family Stateroom QualityNot bad it fit three people nicely. Loved the view of the water. We could see lights at night when we were arriving into the port of New Orleans. Ship Staff QualityThe Dinning room staff knew my daughter had food allergies and informed us ahead of time and made alternative suggestions. Entertainment & Activities
Children's ProgramsThe Kid Carnival activities were great. My daughter could not wait to go. However, I did not think it was fair to pay after 10:00pm. However, I do understand.
Collapse List of Ports
Cozumel, MexicoDolphin Encounter is a MUST do activity. My 8 year old did it and she LOVED it. It was worth every penny. Something neither one of us will forget. Let us not forget the shopping. However, I found it to be more expensive then Progresso.
Progreso (Merida), MexicoWhile waiting to go into town, I found that people who were book for extra activities had greater attention and the rest of us had to wait even for a cab. The staff was not that friendly. As a result we did not go anywhere Sad!

  A Perfect Vacation by
Debbie S. from LA-United States Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: Our Stateroom This was our first cruise and will truely be one of many. We were not sure of what to expect but were highly pleased with everything. Our stateroom was much larger than we had expected, with a closet large enough to use as a changing room. The jacuzzi was a plus for my husband. We both loved our private balcony and spent alot of time on it just relaxing and enjoying the view and the breeze. The food was delicious in the dining room and served by friendly and attentive staff. We also enjoyed the included room service and found that food to be delicious as well and was delivered promptly and correctlly. We lounged by the pool on two afternoons and were entertained by fellow passengers competing in various crazy contests led by crew members. From beginning to end, the entire experience was Perfect! My Humble Opinion-no Fantasy by
Sally T from Gulf Breeze, FL Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: Hospitality of staff Cons: dining room entrees leave a lot to be desired Having enjoyed approx. 30 cruises in the past 20 years, there are good cruises and great cruises. This cruise was not on par with any of them. The staff, I must say was very friendly and helpful. The cabin was adequate for what we paid for on this ecconomy level ship. However, the dining room food left the ten of us at the table disappointed. The Carnival Holiday that they are retiring is superior in the quality/taste of the entrees. Thank goodness, we had the chocolate melting cake to look forward to each evening. The fantastic table mates made up for the meals.
The ship was realatively clean, restrooms were neat and well serviced. The A/C was definately working.....I actually saw one young lady wearing a blanket one evening.
Entertainment was hit and miss. Good comedy, ho hum song and dance routines with the exception of the Beatles Review which was very well done.
Embarkation and debarkation: long lines, and obvious delays upon arriving back in New Orleans was not the way to end the cruise. We are usually off the ship by 9 or 9:30 a.m. It was 11:30 before we cleared customs with no explanation of why the passengers were held so long.
Have had several great Carnival cruises and will sail with them again though not on this ship....it looks a little tired. Ship Quality

  Great cruise. by
Roger C from Charleston, IL Sailing date: Aug 2009Cons: Music on the pool deck was my only con, they played the same "hip hop" tape over and over, The live band had a weak singer. I have sailed on this ship several times in the past, twice since it was refurbished, and it looks like it is still in great shape. The main deck decore provides a festive environment and the new water park theme on the aft deck is a big hit with the kids. Overall the ship is clean and well kept. The crew is friendly and the personal staff i.e. room stewart and dining staff were wonderful. I have been on around fifteen cruises and this one ranked at or near the top, primarily due to the crew and condition of the ship. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodOverall the food quality has improved over my last trip, there was a new mateirde and he did a great job. The food was fresh and well prepared. Stateroom QualityWe had four people in the cabin and the room stewart was still able to make the room tidy. It was pleasant to return to a Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
Children's Programskids karioke was fun, this was the only activity my twelve year old participated in. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
