Wonderful service and fun events. by
Cynthia B from Newbury Park, CA Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: The help with my dietary needs. Cons: Most of the weather was rainy!! I have Celiac disease and found the assistance from the waiters and maitre d' really wonderful. The food all over the ship was delicious! I never got sick at all during the trip. The musical groups were just great and fit with my age group wonderfully (65+). The therapy pool was just heavenly. For my first trip to Alaska, the ports were really a beautiful sample of this great State. Ship Quality

Icy Strait, AlaskaWish I'd done a canoe/kayak ride out of this port. We could see the whales while the kayaker were out on their trip.
Juneau, AlaskaIt was really rainy so we didn't see too much. Went on walks by ourselves. It was Sunday, so some of the sites were closed.
Ketchikan, AlaskaCreek Street and the Totem Pole Museum were wonderful with lots of local information. Didn't take any trips off the ship or in town.
Skagway, AlaskaTook a tour with the National Park rangers around the down and were very impressed with them and their knowledge. Loved the train ride up White Pass.
Don't Miss: The train ride 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

Icy Strait, Alaskathe ZipRider is by far the must-do excursion on an Alaskan cruise.
Don't Miss: ZipRider Juneau, AlaskaJuneau was my personal favorite of all the ports. Mendenhall Glacier was stunning and whale watching was great. Perhaps my favorite part of the enitre cruise was out stop at Tracy's Crab Shack. It was by far the best crab I have ever had.
Don't Miss: Tracy's Crab Shack Ketchikan, Alaskathe rainforest was a must see. the scenery was spectacular and we even saw a bear and several bald eagles.
Don't Miss: nature and wildlife tour Skagway, Alaskarock climbing and repelling was a lot of fun, but not for the faint of heart.

  A Wonderful Alaskan Adventure by
Marcia A from Canton,Oh Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: Hands down the best waiter( Dominic) and assistant{Aartha) we have ever had on a cruise Cons: We really had no complaints This was our 3rd cruise and the best. Everyone was very friendly. Our waiter and assistant waiter were the best we have ever had. They always knew exactly what we wanted after the first night. Our room was very clean and our room steward was very efficient. We never even knew he was around. The food was very tasty and there were always a lot of things to do on the ship Ship QualityWe felt the ship was in good shape even though it is 8 or 9 years old. The were doing maintainence on it most of the time we were in port. Dining/FoodWe had the best seats in the dining room, by the floor to ceiling windows in the back of the ship with gorgeous views every night. The food in the ding room was very tasty with a good variety. Stateroom QualityWe were upgraded to a beautiful balcony room on one of the upper decks and it was very nice and clean. Lots of closet space and a good size bathroom. Ship Staff QualityI made a mistake while trying to book a shore excursion on our in room T.V. and someone from guest relations called me to correct it so I wouldn't be charged extra Entertainment & ActivitiesAll of the entertainment was really very good. 6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

  A great experience! by
Debbie Y. from Brunswick, GA Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: Excellent service from the staff; quiet hallways outside the stateroom--no loud P.A. system. Cons: hair dryer in the stateroom---the handle was too hot to the touch Loved the ship. Ship QualityLoved the layout of the ship. Lots of full-length windows in the public areas for great views Dining/FoodFood was good. Dining room was elegant. Stateroom QualityA good size room with very comfortable furnishings. Liked having a small refrigerator in the room. Did NOT like the hair dryer. Ship Staff QualityYuruf was our waiter and was excellent. Kipni, our room steward, was wonderful. Anything we asked for, he responded within minutes. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe quality of the entertainment was good, but the same singers/dancers appeared several times.

Icy Strait, Alaska$99 was too much to spend for the Spasski River Valley Bear Search tour. We saw 2 bears in the distance, but we saw more bears on the side of the road the day before when traveling in Juneau.
Don't Miss: I heard that the zipline was the most fun thing, but we didn't do it. Juneau, AlaskaEnjoyed the Red Dog Saloon in town.
Ketchikan, AlaskaEnjoyed visiting Dolly's bordello!
Skagway, AlaskaSkagway was the prettiest town we saw.

  Great cruise--best crew by
A Traveler from Atlanta, Georgia Sailing date: Mar 2009Pros: crew and Australia Cons: ship was old and had mechanical problems The ship was old and needs updating. Our itinerary was changed because of mechanical issues. The staff was the best of the 20 cruises we have taken. Ship QualityShip was classy but old. Spa was the best. Dining/FoodFor the money I thought the food overall was the best. The specialty restaurant was pricey and not really worth the money especially since the restaurant food was great. Stateroom QualityBathroom was in desparate need of remodeling. Rest of room was fine. Ship Staff QualityThey had the friendliest staff of any ship we have been on. Entertainment & ActivitiesBest quality entertainment of any ship we have been on. Children's ProgramsThis cruise line is not for kids. They target 40+ for a reason. There are no other kids on board to hang out with. 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

  The Good and Bad by
Mickey G from Huntington Beach, CA Sailing date: Feb 2009Pros: Ports of Call Cons: Lack of customer support Overall everything was fine. However, I feel Celebrity Cruise Lines completely lacks integreity. Their "no smoking policy" in all rooms (including balconies) is a farce. The hallway outside our room was filled smoke most of the time. After complaining to the attendants, the front desk and finally the the attendants Supervisor, the smoke remained. A big front was put on about smoking is not allowed and that there is a $250.00 fine when "caught". It was never "caught" in our area. We even saw a person smoking on their balcony. We felt they'd be more professional and honest if the policy was removed, rather than use it as a scam to get non smoking customers. Ship QualityOur room was very clean. The decor was a bit outdated but fine. Dining/FoodThe food was good and they offered healthy choices. The buffet dinner was redundant. Three choices every night. Sushi, stir fry and pasta. They were good, but for 14 days it gets old. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualitySeveral staff members were very helpful, but some were not. Nothing really above and beyond. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe just saw 2 shows as the selection seemed somewhat boring. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Dissapointing dervice and entertainment by
Erdem D from Istanbul Sailing date: Dec 2008Pros: ports of call Cons: shows, meals which were served warm instead of hot The ship will be redecorated in March from whwt we hear. Wish we had taken it after it was redone. Celebrity seems to have been affedted from the economic stuation. They should review their menus, heat the food and soups especialy
The entertainment was very poor. Ship Quality

  Great cruise by
Beverly J. from Schaumburg, Illinois Sailing date: Oct 2008Pros: The weather, the ports, and the activities Cons: The length of time in most ports was too short. The last day in Honolulu was a complete waste of a vacation day.. siting at the pier or at the airport for eight to ten hours. Very pleased with the entire operation, except the disembarkation at Honolulu was anything but smooth. The luggage taken to the pier worked well however the bus and luggage loading for the airport was a nightmare. Ship Quality
