An exceptional adventure by
Grace H from Buford, Georgia Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: We liked the service, food, activities and excursions. Cons: the procedures for exiting the ship We were so pleased with this cruise. There was not a moment when we did not have something to do and we are seniors 70/75. We enjoyed the shows and the excursions. We also enjoyed doing absolutely nothing. We have been on 6 cruises and this ship and its staff have been the best of all Ship QualityThe ship was spotless and the staff willing and able to help you with anything that you needed. The two star singers for the shows were great and gave entertainment in the atrium of the ship. they seemed happy to sing to us. Dining/FoodFrom the decor to the service the dinning room was relaxing and the service was exceptional. The staff did everything possible to make our 50th Anniversary and my husbands 75th birthday a exciting time. Stateroom QualityLoved the state room attendant who saw that I had ice for my knee which had been through surgery. She was very pleasant and happy to help us Ship Staff QualityWell trained staff who knew the ship and had answers to any questions. Entertainment & ActivitiesOver the top with something for everyone. We even learned to play the Wii game of bowling, ship had everything, mini golf was one of our favorites 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Enjoyed the cruise by
A Traveler from San Diego, CA Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: How beautiful Alaska was. Cons: the food was fair to poor. The ship staff was very friendly and helpful. Our dinning room waitress Gloria was wonderful as well as her assistant Dennis. The food was not good, after reading the reviews it appears that this is an on going problem dating back to 2007. One would think that it would improve, just about every review mentioned the food. Ship QualityOur cabin was always clean and taken care of. Dining/FoodQualify of good was poor, the last three nights there was a little improvement. Stateroom QualityOur stateroom was always clean. Ship Staff QualityStaff was very friendly Entertainment & ActivitiesWe did attend every show but the ones we did were enjoyable. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

RCI not our favorite, except for kids by
Gene R. from Minneapolis, MN Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: kid programs Cons: dirty room and bad bed The 7 day voyage to Alaska from Vancouver was fabulous from a scenic point of view, but the ship, well, we wouldn't return on this Royal Caribbean vessel. Our two girls (ages 11 and 15) had a grand time. The teenager found several friends and we rarely saw her thanks to the ships teen center. This was far superior to the Disney Cruise we did last year. Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityEach day the room is straightened and surface cleaned but behind the bed we found much dust, even some old toothpicks. We think the drapes and carpeting could use a good cleaning which probably very rarely happens. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
Children's ProgramsMuch better than Disney! Our two girls were active with friends the whole time. Disney, on the other hand was a ship for real little kids.

Icy Strait, AlaskaNo need to get off ship, just drink in the scenery and watch whales near ship.
Juneau, AlaskaA beautiful setting but mostly tourist joints owned by the ship lines. Walk way past that and go up the hill to the Capital...free tours regularly. Otherwise it's all tourist souvenier shops....boring!
Skagway, AlaskaWe did the Adventure Park/Zip Line and it was fabulous...scary....the train ride looked kind of daring, pearing down the side of cliffs.

  Wonderful Alaska by
AYME M from San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA Sailing date: May 2009Pros: The scenary Cons: Prices on board The Serenade of the Seas is a beautiful ship with so many options. The crew was very friendly. Have no complains about our 7 days there, except the prices on the ship stores were a somehow high... no duty-free whatsoever... but food was great, varied, good taste... Rooms with balcony were very comfortable and the views you get to see while there are amazing!!! I recommend booking w/balcony when planning going Alaska. It was an excellent choice of cabin for this trip. The shows were more or less entertaining... not compared with those offered at the bigger ships.. but nevertheless.. they tried their best. The check-in and check-out last day were organized and more or less quickly done. My family and I had an excellent time there and I will recommend it to anyone. Take the tour from Royal Caribbean called Whale Watching and Wildlife Quest... It was EXCELLENT!.... Children's ProgramsThe Adventure Camp program was great!.. My boy didnt want to leave ever!!!

  Good Value by
Christopher P. from Santa Susana, California USA Sailing date: Mar 2009Pros: The cleanliness of the ship's public areas. Cons: Our cabin steward stopped caring as soon as he got his tip! Overall this ship is wonderful. This was our 3rd cruise and second RCL cruise and this was by far the best. Dining/FoodFood quality was good but our waiter was like a factory worker. Phony nice. Our assistant waiter was wonderful! Stateroom QualityVery nice and comfortable. Bathroom was nice size for a cruise ship. Ship Staff QualityExcellent. Only the cabin steward and our main waiter were less than good. Entertainment & ActivitiesEntertainment was mediocre. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  A real Cruise! by
Mary Anna Greene from Janesville, WI Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: Lots of sea days, the food, the music, the activities Cons: Very disorganized when dealing with large group activities..safety drill, getting off and on ship. Ship was well maintained(except for an odd smell around the Atrium Bar)
The food service in dining room and specialty restaurants was excellent.
Music and entertainment also very good...we especially like the group "Mirage".
Our biggest complaint was the disoganization of the safety drill and getting off and on the ship..took way tooooo long! Ship Quality

We loved sitting and listening to the bands play in the Centrum after dinner each night also.
