A Great & Fantastic experience by George S. from Ocala, FL
Sailing date: Oct 2009

Pros:
The Layout of the Ship

Cons:
Scratch DJ entertainer

We have done a total of over 45 cruises on several different lines and different types of ships. To this point, our favorite was Royal Caribbeans Mariner of the Seas. When that ship left Pt. Canaveral, we were very dissapointed, but no more. The Freedom of the Seas is more than we expected. The most beautiful ship we have ever sailed on with such a wonderful crew you would never know that you were on the water. Sitting in the cafe on the Promenade was like sitting on a sidewalk cafe in New York and Chops Restaurant was a real five star restaurant with the food and most fantastic service we have ever had. The ice show and production shows all exceeded our expectations as did the entertainment in the Piano Bar. I could go on and on, but just say five star plus for the whole cruise - "The Best Ever". This was our 22nd cruise with Royal Caribbean and will be making many more with this ship.

It was super! by Carl & Val B from Mason, OH
Sailing date: Oct 2009

Pros:
The food and entertainment

Cons:
walking through the casino smoke

What a grand ship. The food and service was excellent. The cruise director was a gas and the entertainment was enjoyable. Had no complaints. Playing Bingo got on the expensive side and they have electronic units that take the fun out of it. The staff on this ship was just splended.

Pros:
state room

Cons:
brought kids ,,lololo

i had a wonder ful experience due to the aid of our state room attendant Named Albert . I had just found out i was ill before i got on the boat . so timing was wrong but my children and i needed it so we proceeded as planed . Albert was also kind to us in land when we crossed pathes . I do not know how the week would have turned out had it not been for him , he was also very good with my kids on the boat , SO THIS TRIP I WOULD HAVE TO SING THE PRAISES OF Albert . he was out shot in the arm . I most likly will be looking for another cruise very soon . thank you .

An Excellent Cruise by Robert P from Dothan, Al
Sailing date: Oct 2009

Pros:
Food exceptional in the dining room, Windjammer, CHOPS GRILLE, AND PORTOFINO

Cons:
The lack of monitoring of children around the adult pool areas

Just finishing our 22nd cruise, this one will long be remembered. On the Freedom, everyone seemed so upbeat and excited. The check-in was perfect, the entire week showed nothing but smiles and friendly greetings from all the crew. The ship is fabulous. It's truly a cruise of a lifetime on the Freedom of the Seas.

The dinning room service was one of the best we ever had! Both the waiter and his assistant went out of their way to please us. The waiter's name was John, but I do not recall his first name. Table 283 Room 3330 They were great and made our dinning experience a great one!

Bit of a Disappointment by stephen l from Clearwater, FL
Sailing date: Sep 2009

Pros:
The Getaway

Cons:
Destinations/Decor/Food

Ship is a big bore. Royal Promenade is nothing more than your neighborhood shopping mall at sea. Arcadia theater was done on the cheap. Dining room was magnificient. Elevators/stairwells and cabins were identical to the Vision of the Seas which I sailed a decade ago. RCL come up with something new!!

Freedom of the Seas by Antoine W. from Cleveland, Ohio
Sailing date: Sep 2009

Pros:
The Ship was everything and then some...

Cons:
N/A

My wife and I just recently returned from sailing on the "Freedom of the Seas." It was everything the Travel Channel indicated. The ship was just fabulous! As many people as the ship held there was always "room" no one area was ever crowded. The ship was clean! Not once did I go into a public restroom and found it dirty...Hats Off to the housekeeping staff for a job well done! The food, daily activities, personnel and shows were excellent! I would highly recommend the Freedom of the Seas!

Best Ship and best value by Larry S. from Florida
Sailing date: Sep 2009

Pros:
Great food and exceptional friendly service. When I read of other reviews complaining of the food, I say, do you think you should have the finest gourmet food for a cruise that costs less than $100.00 a day.

Cons:
Length of stays in ports was too short. I am convinced all cruise ships just want you to have just enough time to do your ship shore excursion and then get you back on the ship so all your dollors are spent on the ship.

Very clean and efficient ship with a modern and non gaudy decor. I have been on about 10 ships and this one was easily the best. My room was an inside with only 152 sq, feet but easily made the best use of the space of any ship I have been on.

Largest Ship--Largest Experience by Shirley, W. from Atlanta, GA
Sailing date: Sep 2009

Pros:
Well organized for having 4,000 guests aboard. All service people very nice.

Cons:
Music geared to younger group than us.

It was fascinating to be aboard the largest vessel afloat. Our stateroom attendant was very efficient. The planned organization of meals and activities made it most enjoyable handling that many passengers. It is a beautiful vessel. The captain claims to be the smallest captain on the largest ship. He was very personable.

My cruise experience by Judy S. from Chattanooga, TN
Sailing date: Sep 2009

Pros:
The island tours were very good. Good commentary from the guides, a good overview of the islands, organized and well-planned.

Cons:
Customer service was some of the poorest I have ever encountered.

Overall the ship was fine. The customer service was poor from beginning to end. While planning the cruise I had difficulty obtaining the color-coded luggage tags. I made several phone calls to Royal Caribbean and my travel agency and spoke to multiple people before finally finding someone at the travel agency willing to help me and did receive the tags a few days prior to travel. The cutomer service personnel at RC were rude and unhelpful. On boarding the ship and locating my cabin I discover RC has cut out amenities such as chocolate on the pillows, etc. Small things, but a nice touch. The staff at photograph counter were very unhelpful when we were trying to locate our photos. Finally I reminded the person that if they wanted to sell photos we had to be able to locate them, finally some reluctant help! The computers set up to let you view/order photos were not user friendly. I am amazed that RC is building larger ships when they need to concentrate on taking care of the current travelers. The Flowrider was probably the best thing on the ship, and the staff operating it was upbeat and fun. Our cabin steward was right-on, always pleasant and helpful. Our waiter was knowledgable and attentive, did not have the personality of the waiter last fall on the Mariner, but he was exceptional and did set a very high bar. Our assistant waiter was always smiling, and very attentive. The Head Waiter was hands-on. The waiters in the WindJammer were not as attentive as last fall on the Mariner.

Entertainment & Activities
We were as busy or not as we wanted to be. There was always something to do or somewhere to go. The only complaint I have is with the Bingo- what happened to the $5.00 cards?- and the casino- no cash return, but a "marker". Where is the fun factor? Part of the fun in a casino is hearing the quarters fall when you hit the jackpot.
