Enchantment is a fantastic ship..! by Carolyn & Daniel F. from Harrisburg, PA.
Sailing date: Nov 2009

Pros:
The food, the food, the food...!!!

Cons:
The winds were not kind to us, after hurricane Ida....

The ship is great, that's a given. The crew is what makes any trip memorable. We could not have expected anything more, or anything better. RCL is tops..!

A great vacation - just to short!!! by Tom Y from Layton Ut
Sailing date: Oct 2009

Pros:
Entertainment, food, service

Cons:
On board stores

We have been on a number of cruises & this was a great deal. We like the longer 7-10 day cruises the best, but for the price we thought we would try it. The ship was very clean when we boarded and kept that way during the entire trip. They were very timely in leaving the port of departure, and at 2 ports of call. There was a medical emergency about 2 hours after we left the second port & we had to sail back about 2 hours, the captain informed us of the emergency (woman was pregnant is what we heard & having complications). After dropping her off at the port the ship made up ground big time & we actually arrived early at our destination. Some of the food was not of the same quality I have come to expect on-board, but there was plenty of choices - so we just ordered a couple different items off each course & found there was always something we enjoyed. We love the escargot. We always eat at the dining room because we found the buffet was not of the same caliber food (neither was the coffee). The entertainment was fantastic on this cruise, more so than on other Royal Caribbean ships we have been on. The ships singers/dancers were outstanding, the comedian was great, they had a band by the name of Revolution on-board that was very good. Stateroom service was outstanding as well, very timely in sprucing up the cabin twice a day, & great towel art every night! We had some rough seas at times but the ship is so big it doesn't seem to effect ride, must have great stabilizers! This was a very enjoyable trip & we would definitely do it again. The weather, although rough at times, was normally very nice in the evening. Gorgeous full moon on our trip allowed you to see quite a ways at night & perfect temperature.

Misleading by Adrian E from Orlando, FL
Sailing date: Oct 2009

I recently was aboard the enchantment of the sea, things were going well on the second day, I asked my beautiful Girlfriend to marry me. As in my any event of this magnitude, we wanted to celebrate it throughout the gulf of mexico but, my wife and i begin have diharrea and, we tried not to let that hold us back but, then we took and excursion that we registerd and paid for on the ship only to be swindle out of money and be dropped off at a location not designated by the ship. this forced us to take and extra cab to make it back to the ship in time. it was frightening. We spoke to Guest Relations and all we got was an apology, I found this to be very dissappointing since my finance and i are in our 40's...we have 4 children between the two of us and it was her first cruise, and my first on Royal Carribean. I was so upset at the lack of responsibility by the ship, I am not sure we would take that ship again...we are planning to have our wedding on a ship with our family but, I am not sure if we will consider Royal Carribean in that choice. Thank You.

A Great Experience by Mazen S from Chicago, IL
Sailing date: Oct 2009

Pros:
The friendly staff, The beauty of the ship, The children's activities

Cons:
Jump Trampoline closed most of the time, Also no more Midnight Gala Buffet

I realize that there are quite a bit of ships larger and newer than the Enchantment out there. However, have to say that the Enchantment of the seas is well maintained and very clean and beautiful. It being refurbished in 2005, really made a difference. I loved the fact that it had a splash pool and a small pool just for kids deep enough for children who still didn't know how to swim yet. My son played in it for hours. There was always something going on throughout the ship. There was never a dull moment. The 70's party was wonderful. The entertainment including the shows and everything in the Orpheum theatre was surprisingly good. There was pretty much something for everyone. The staff was attentive, helpful and very friendly. Many people might not comment or notice this, but I really enjoyed the music selection playing throughout the day in the ship. I thought it was very "vacation" appropriate. The main thing I was disappointed with was the fact that they didn't have the midnight gala buffet anymore. Before they would have this beautiful wide section of different desserts and foods that the chefs would decorate and display for us to first take pictures of and then eat. They would also have these gorgeous ice sculptures and food cravings that looked like art. Apparently, they don't do it anymore because not a lot of people would stay up and eat it ,and a lot of it would go to waste. My husband and I always look forward to it so we were sad to see it go. They did have some midnight buffet one night of the cruise, but in no way did it compare to what they had before. It was very small, not a wide selection of desserts and foods and just a couple of ice sculptures. The other thing I was disappointed with was the quality of food. I felt as if, after the economy went down, so did the food quality on the cruise ships. I'm not saying it was terrible, but it did not taste the same. The food was decorated nicely, but didn't taste as well as it looked. Because I've cruised before, I know for a fact the quality of food has gone down. For example when I cruised on Carnival, and Royal Caribbean before, they offered filet migon in the main dining room for dinner. However, this time around, if I wanted filet mignon, I would have to pay for it extra from Chops Grill. Also, the desserts were very simple, nothing special or I have to have again. Bottom line, I would say the food in the dining room was mediocre compared to what I've had in the past on prior cruise ships. The Windjammer lunches and dinners were pretty good with a wide selection. Overall, I would recommend this ship because when it comes down to it, my family and I really enjoyed ourselves and the staff really made it wonderful!

Beautiful! Well maintained and very clean. For it's age, the centrum was up to date and breathtaking. Deck 10 with the bridges was a great addition and beautiful as well. The staterooms were pretty small, but that's expected on a cruise ship and who spents most of their time in their rooms anyways?

Dining/Food
Nothing special. I've had better food in the main dinning room on other ships before. Some things were good and other things were just ok. They did have a wide selection during the buffets, which was nice. They never ran out of food in the Windjammer and there was always something to eat no matter what time of the day it was. You can never go hungry. My Fair Lady Dinning room was beautiful and elegant.

Small, but expected. The bathroom was really small, but big enough to do what you have to do. I have to say the bed was very comfortable. There was a lot of storage space and the closet was pretty big.

Very friendly and helpful. Everyone from the waiter staff to the attended who cleaned our room. The person who cleaned our room was a gentleman named Maxamillion. He was very nice and immediately brought me a crib for my 1 year old when I asked for it. One of the best staff on a crusie ship from all the cruises I've been on. No complaints!

The adventure ocean program for 3 years old and up is an excellent program. My nieces and nephews didn't want to leave. Also, I really loved the fact that they had a pool area just for the kids. Absolutely wonderful!!

The best cruise we've had! by Deborah F. from Port Charlotte, FL
Sailing date: Sep 2009

Pros:
The fun activities and excellent shows!

Cons:
Not enough announcements--when about to dock or anchor somewhere.

The ship was large and laid out beautifully. There was always something to see and do. The dining areas were comfortable and we liked the way that the buffet tables were spread out so people were not as bunched together to get food. The swimming pools were great, offering two different areas in which to swim, depending on how much activity or excitement you wanted. The room was clean and in good repair. All lounges and clubs were beautifully decorated and furnished.
