Great Cruise
by Judy S from Homosassa Fl
Sailing date:
Nov 2009
Pros:
The food was outstanding
Cons:
The music we really would have liked to dance to was started to late at night or in some cases cancelled
This was our first cruise so we did not have anything to compare it with but overall it was a great experience.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
The selections at dinner were wonderful and the staff was as well.
Stateroom Quality
The room was small and the showercurtain a bit of a nusance. We were disappointed that there was no safe or small refrigerator in the room.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
The fitness center was great but I found that the young man on staff was pushing a bit to hard on colon cleansing product he was selling. I would have like to have one of the lounges start their dancing earlier than 11pm. They did have music but nothing our group was interested in dancing to.

WONDERFULL VOYAGE
by JOSE VIVAS from orlando,fl.
Sailing date:
Nov 2009
Pros:
ACTIVITYS
Cons:
SIDE OF CABIN
We knew the ship had been refurbished and stretched to make it larger, but we had no idea what to expect. New restaurants, a fantastic new pool area and a new nightclub made this cruise feel like we were on a brand new ship

first cruise
by william j from georgia
Sailing date:
Oct 2009
Pros:
price, variet of foods
Cons:
not much for middle age folks 45-55
overall compared to what I saw just looking from at a distance the ship seems quite old. and the interior seems to need refurbushing. didn't really know what to expect or exactly how to take advantage of all of the amenities. the only real complaint was i didn't exactly understand the dinner reservations and that when i booked i was only allowed to dine at that specific time, really didn't like that.so we ate all of our meals in the Windjammer.

cruises not like they used to be.
by A Traveler from Florida
Sailing date:
Oct 2009
Pros:
relaxing, and servers very nice
Cons:
The cruise lines are nickle and diming everything. Not like it used to be.
Not only do they charge for soda drinks, now you have to pay for fresh squeezed orange juice, cranberry juice, etc. And a service charge for room service after midnight,if you use it ( though I have never used this service after midnight). Time to check out all inclusive resorts. Been cruising for many years.

ship is beautiful
by Dean D. from Palm Bay, Fl.
Sailing date:
Oct 2009
Pros:
crew was very friendly
Cons:
nothing done to control noise in the middle of the night. some people need sleep. the ship promotes partying with little concern for those who would
I have cruised Royal Caribbean 3 times in 18 months. two out of the 3 times, my wife and myself spent sleepless nights because of the party noise in cabins. Then after being kept awake all night I lose most of the next day because I get up later. This also cost me the meal the next morning because the restaurant was closed and had to wait for lunch. To me 2 out of 3 times is not very good. When I complain to head of customer relations all I gey is an I'm Sorry. They cannot control it because the night crew has no authority to control it. What good are ship rules if the off hour people cannot do anything. They should at least be told to wake their supervisor up about it. Maybe their sleep should be interupted like mine was. I fillled out a review and nobody even bothers to call..
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The ship itself was very nice and the people friendly
Dining/Food
The food was very good but if you miss the meal window your confined to pizza.
Stateroom Quality
The cabins were very nice and the attendants do a great job and are very helpful when needed.
Ship Staff Quality
The staff was very friendly. The person at the desk when I complained was very upset that she could not do more for me other than move us to another cabin to sleep at 5:00AM because her hands were tied.
Entertainment & Activities
The entertainment was very good but its hard enjoy after the nightly experience, and you listen to the activities director telling people to party ALL NIGHT and catch up on sleep next week.

A Great Cruise!
by Joan Heriaud from The Villages, FL
Sailing date:
Oct 2009
Pros:
The staff aboard the Monarch of The Sea were the very best
Cons:
The way the Pool Party was handled
Pool Party from 12:00 P.M. till 5 P.M. would have been great if planned for the guests in a more appropriate way. Lawn chairs should have been folded & stacked & stored. Tables & chairs moved in so that guests would not have to carry their food & drink up the stairs to the next level of the Pool looking for somewhere to sit Elderly people if they were lucky enough to find a lawn chair (most were not!) had to sit & balance their food in an awkward manner. People were continually walking up & down from 11:30 on hunting & seeking looking for somewhere to sit. The food & presentation were great but the accommodations were inadequate & poor. Not well planned for seating arrangements. Many guests were dissatisfied as a result of insufficient & inadequate seating.
