Gary M from los angeles Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: The balcony view was really rewarding. Cons: Crowds especially around lunch time. There was only one dining area open for 2800 cruisers The Victory compared to the Carnival Pride it was a step down. There was a lot of motion on this ship and we were not in heavy seas. You also were not able to walk the the entire ship and connect with dining areas without going up and then going back down even if you walked on the outside decks. The itinerary was great and we really enjoyed St Kitts and St Lucia. The food was OK but again the Pride excelled especially in the seafood area. There was a large big screen and I mean huge on Lido deck and pool area which was great for the world series. Ship QualityGetting around was a hassle. Dining/FoodSeveral meals especially beef dishes were bland and overcooked. Seafood selections were very limited. Stateroom QualityBalcony view was exceptional. On deck 6 forward the late shows music kept you awake if you had an early excursion the next day. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesThe juggler was poor and some comments were not very funny. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Last Hurrah by
Charlene Davis from Hyattsville, Md Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: That my only child/son and I were able to take this trip just before he gets engaged. Gosh did we have a wonderful time. He told me that he had a ball. We did everything from river-tubing through the rain forest, 4 by 4 adventure to the beach, deepsea fishing , snorkling off the catamaran Cons: Toooo much food The ships staff were so friendly and accommodating in every way. It was great for my son and I, after all now that he is getting engage there will not be any trips together until after the grandchildren come. Gosh thank you for making this trip such a memorable one for me and my only child. I am also thankful that the price of the trip was excellent for me now that I am retired. I planned to go again with friends within the next 6 months.
PS, I learned how to play the 2cent slots and won $170.00 dollars, I also caught a baracuda on the fishing trip. What excitement the trip was for me.
Charlene Davis, Hyattsville, Md Ship QualityMy balcony room was perfect, having a couch in the room really added more comfort. The staff works constantly night and day to keep the ship in perfect order.(with smiles on their faces) Dining/FoodThere is just too much food, I found myself eating small meals all through the day instead of three big meals. This way I never felt stuffed. Stateroom QualityMy stateroom as I said before was perfect. I especially enjoyed my bed it was great Ship Staff QualityI can only say over and over again that I felt safe on the boat and never felt worried about any thing because the staff made you think you were special and that they would take good care of you Entertainment & ActivitiesThe variety of activities allowed you to be entertain any time of the day or night. I could not make all of the activities, but the ones I did participate in I truly enjoyed 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

SHOULD THEY BE IN SCHOOL?? by
Alan S. from Atlanta Ga. Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: The Service, food, and cleanliness Cons: The unruly children running about the ship 24/7 The cruise lenth of 7 nights was just right and the choice of islands was on point except for Dominica. The ship staff was more than friendly and accomodating. They always went the extra mile. The cabin and ship were kept very clean, the food was FRESH, tasty and eye appealing. The overall stay was excellent. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodQuality was super good. Loved the variety of entrees. Stateroom QualityStateroom was a little confining, however that was to be expected. Loved the balcony though. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
Children's ProgramsThere were children from the ages of about 3-19 yrs old running around the halls yelling and screening especially in the evenings. No parents to be found. Aren't these kids suppose to be IN SCHOOL? 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  A far cruise by
A Traveler from Kansas City, Mo Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: After we got our cabin steward replaced it was good. Cons: Food and service The ship was too small for the number of people on it. Rooms were too small. It was an older ship. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe food was o.k.--I have had better food on other cruises.
We had a problem with the dining room. The person in charge of making the assignments, kept changing our people who served us.
They did the best they could. Stateroom QualityThe room was too small. The first cabin stewart did not make himself available to us. We requested to have my husband's suit jacket pressed.
He never did. We requested another cabin person, and he did an outstanding job. Ship Staff QualityThe customer service desk, the two days before departing the ship, the lines were too long. There wer not enough people to help us. I waited in line for two hours to get help. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe entertainment and activities were great. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Great Experience! by
Cyndie K. from Inman, SC Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: Clean Ship, Wonderful Waitstaff, Friendly Atmosphere, Fast Room Service! Cons: Camp Carnival, Unorganized Ship Photos This ship is very beautiful and clean. We saw cleaning crews working around the clock to make everything shine. There were hand sanitizer stations everywhere, and the glass areas sparkled. Our balcony room was nice, and the kids loved the 'bunk' beds. The staff was very friendly, and our waiters went out of their way to make us and our children feel special. The activity schedule had something for everyone. Our biggest dissapointment was Camp Carnival. We hoped to be able to leave our children there while we did a few activities on shore that they were not old enough to do, but after one visit, they did not want to go back. Ship QualityVery beautiful and clean! Dining/FoodThe food was very good, and we were impressed to see that each meal had a vegetarian selection that was very high quality. The ambiance was great, but it would be nice to have a little more flexibility in dining times. Stateroom QualityOur room was great, and we chose the location for it's proximity to the pool. The beds were very comfortable, and the cabin steward kept it very clean. We loved the balcony!! Ship Staff QualityOur waitstaff went above and beyond to make us all happy. Our cabin steward was also great. Entertainment & ActivitiesSomething for everyone!!! Children's ProgramsThe first night on the ship we went with our five-year-old daughters to make a bear. There were about six or seven children in the room, but the staff all sat together at one table talking to each other and having no interaction with the kids. Two days later, we left our girls in Camp Carnival for two or three hours, and when we came to get them, they said they never wanted to go back again. They said they were yelled at, they had crayons snatched out of their hands, and there was no organized activity. We also had to wait in line that day for 45 minutes just to check them in. We were not given a pager or anything, and did not feel comfortable with the Camp overall. This was a huge dissapointment because our friends on other cruise lines say they can't get their kids to leave the 'kids camp'. This could make me think twice about booking with Carnival again when I bring my child on vacation.

  A very good cruise by
A Traveler from Seattle, WA Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: The Service was excellent Cons: The food could be hit or miss but mostly hits. The Victory staff and accomodations were terrific in almost every way. The only minor deduction would be that a couple of my dinner meals were not the greatest. My wife loved everything and we are planning on trying to go on another cruise within the next two years. Ship Quality

  A fabulous itinerary! by
Michelle M. from East greenwich, RI Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: the islands Cons: too cold in many public places on the cruise ship After sailing a a number of cruises and various cruiselines, Carnival does continue to do well. Even though this wasn't a new superliner, it was clean and well-maintained. This cruise was chosen for the itinerary and going to an island each day doesn't allow much time for rest, but the southern carribean never disappoints! Ship QualityI actually prefer the size of this cruise ship vs. the new superliners that are often way more crowded. As others have indicted, it was tricky to get through sometimes on certain floors but once you knew how, it was fine. They do keep the AC way too cold though, especially in the theater. Dining/FoodDining room food was excellent - didn't even miss the speciality restaurants offered on other cruises. My daughter loved the sushi bar! Stateroom QualityGood size stateroom and bathroom - my parents had a balcony, which was very nice. Ship Staff QualityNo issues - friendly staff, especially dining room staff. Entertainment & ActivitiesProduction shows were outstanding.

St. John's, AntiguaThe straw market at the pier is interesting.
Don't Miss: again, the beaches - horseback riding even offered at the beach! Bridgetown, BarbadosAlways a favorite island!
Don't Miss: the beaches - the further from the cruiseship, the better DominicaNo good beaches
Don't Miss: Hots springs and waterfalls Basseterre, St. KittsFirst time on this island - interesting, pretty beaches but only recommended for a day stop.
Don't Miss: the monkeys! Castries, St. LuciaVendors bug you way too much on this island (at the beach) - recommended to purchase jewelry and wear it so sellers see you have already bought something and are no longer interested. This is by far one of the prettiest islands though.
Don't Miss: Renuit beach in Rodney Bay area Charlotte Amalie, St. ThomasNo shopping in town this time (which St. Thomas is known for) but the shopping at the pier is good.
Don't Miss: Saint John - Trunk Bay never disappoints!! 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
