A Fun Cruise by
A Traveler from Sandusky, OH Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: It's a smaller ship so no long lines and we could always find a lounge chair on deck. Cons: I would prefer not to ever have to dine in the formal dining rooms. My two daughters, granddaughter and I just returned from a cruise on Disney Magic. We all enjoyed it. My 5 yr. old granddaughter LOVED the Oceanneer's Club and Lab. She would have gladly stayed there from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. if we let her. The staff was wonderful. The 3 pools were very nice and usually pretty warm. Of the 4 shows we attended in the theater, 2 were outstanding! The costumes, singing and visual effects were top notch. When the characters visited the children in the dining rooms, they were thrilled. The food was good but not great. We had a balcony room which was so much nicer than the little shoeboxes on the lower decks which I usually book on cruises. The whole staff was wonderful, always smiling and eager to please. The down side, if your child wanted a picture taken with one of the characters, you had to wait in line forever, so we opted not to do that. We thought it would be nice if the characters wandered around the ship periodically so pictures could be taken anytime, also, they could have visited the dining rooms more than once. That might have cut down on the long lines waiting for pictures. We enjoyed the ports, St. Maarten and St. Thomas, also Castaway Cay was very nice. On St. Maarten we hired a taxi driver to take us where we wanted to go. I've been there a few times and knew where we'd want to go in our allotted time. I wouldn't recommend this cruise for people without children, but if you have children, it's super. Ship Quality

  Exceeded our expectations by
Barb and Jim Szabo from Cleveland Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: The food is the best in the cruise industry - characters were so personable - shows were wonderfuls Cons: nonthing So easy to get on the ship and getting off the ship was a breeze. No lines, no headaches, no waiting in corridors. We never expected a ship with so many children on board to run so efficiently. This trip exceeded all our expectations and added new ones. Ship Qualityalways cleaning, washing, painting, working. Hard workers on this ship Dining/FoodThis was our 20th cruise - first (but not last) with Disney - best food on a cruise yet. Could have filet mignon just about every night. Stateroom Qualitybig rooms, we enjoyed that. Ship Staff QualitySnow White took our grandchildren by the hand and skipped down the hall way with them while she was showing us the way to dinner. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe shows are unbelievable... can understand why they are #1 in the cruise industry. The kids were awestruck and so were the adults. Not a peep was made in the audience. Children's ProgramsDisney's security over our grand children was great. We had tea with the Mad Hatter, breakfast with the characters, danced with the characters, went halloweeing on the ship. Too much to write. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

A great trip but a really bad room by
Jen R from Greencastle, PA Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: Disney magic and characters Cons: The plumbing in our room was awful. The toilet didn't flush right all week and our room flooded twice. This was our 4th Disney Cruise. We love everything Disney and always love the Disney ships, but this time our room was really bad. The toilet didn't flush right the whole time and the bathroom flooded twice. It took the whole week to get it fixed. We really thought they should have fixed the problem sooner. The ship is beautiful and generally well maintained although there were plumbing problems in some of the public restrooms as well. The kids programing is exceptional and the service superior to any other cruise line. Ship QualityNot all public restrooms were operational Dining/FoodFood was not quite as good as our previous cruises. Portions were very small. Our dining time seemed to interfere with a lot of the Character greetings and photo opportunities. Stateroom QualityToilet didn't work, bathroom flooded twice, room was very small. Excellent amount of storage and closet space. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activitieslots of conflicting activites. Hard to see all the characters in an evening due to timing Children's ProgramsThere are no better programs out there 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

A magical place at sea! by
Cindy N. from Arlington, TX Sailing date: Mar 2009Pros: Seeing the happiness in all of the children's faces! Cons: The main pool The ship was amazing! Everything was clean-they even handed out moist wipes prior to entering a dining area. It was great to see the happiness on the kids' faces and it really was the happiest place at sea! Pirate night was fun and the staff was SOOOOO nice! We had a bit of a problem with lice when we got home and since have heard that ships tend to have them...good thing to know! Overall, it was a great experience, but budget in shopping and bingo-that got way out of hand for us! Ship QualityThe ship was great, except for the size of the main pool-it was too small, They had an adult pool, which was empty most of the time, but it was only for 18+-that pool was bigger and in my opinion, should have been the family pool. Dining/FoodAmazing! The food was delicious, properly cooked, and even had a "light fare" option for those on diets! The lamb was my favorite! The restaurants had a fun atmosphere and had the servers dressed up depending on the theme of the night. The best buffet was the pirate buffet-watch out for they HUGE turkey legs-yum! Stateroom QualityGreat! Always clean and smelled great-except for the minor lice problem when we got home, we were pretty happy with our stateroom. Ship Staff QualityAMAZING! They had to have taken happy pills every morning, because no one can be that happy EVERYDAY! Entertainment & ActivitiesAWESOME! The comedian was the worst of the bunch, but even he was funny! Our favorite was Mike Super-he was fabulous! The ports were okay, we didn't have enough time to explore or shop-would have liked more time at St. Thomas. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

  Great time by
A Traveler from Greenville, NC Sailing date: Mar 2009Pros: Lots to do for adults as well as children Cons: Paying for excursions off of the cruise While I was on this cruise primarily visiting with family, there were some terrific offerings for adults and children, tremendously helpful and friendly staff and great food. Everything on the ship is convenient and the live shows and character appearances are magical and there are many opportunities to see them. The programming staff did a great job providing adult entertainment for the evenings as well. My only advice would be to budget for excursions off of the ship, on the Eastern tour in St. Maarten and St. Thomas you will need the pay for a cab to the beaches and usually separate activities like parasailing or snorkeling are separate as well. Visiting the Disney island, Castaway Cay is terrific as well. Ship Quality

  Thanksgiving With Disney by
Joe B from Peoria,IL Sailing date: Nov 2008Pros: Kids club, shows, entertainment, private island, food options, health club, giant TV at pool, nightly activities, fireworks Cons: Size of main pool Our family spent Thanksgiving with Disney aboard the Magic. The overall experience was fantastic. We found the ship, crew, food, activities, and shows top notch. We have been on other cruises before and Disney exceeds them all. Our kids loved the kids club and all the activities they had to offer. We traveled with an eleven year old, eight year old, and five year old. After the shows at night the kids chose to go to the kids club everynight. Our eldest did not come in until after midnight everynight. They had so much fun in the clubs they never wanted to leave. We found the food to be great. We don't have anything bad to say about the buffets, room service, or dinner seatings. Many reviews have reported the Topsiders Buffet as horrible, but we found nothing wrong with this buffet and ate there twice. We have eaten at the top rated restaurants in New York, Paris, and the US and found no reason to talk these options on the boat down. The room was adequate for sleeping 5, though we heard you can save money and have more room buy reserving 2 adjoining rooms instead. We chose the family deluxe room. The excursions were great. We swam with the dolphins, went parasailing, visit the butterfly farm and turtle farm. All of these were great. We will definitely cruise with Disney again. Ship QualityMain pool is too small. During days sailing at sea the pool areas are too crowded. Dining/FoodAll of our dining experiences were great. The service and food were exceptional. Stateroom QualityKept very clean. Though a bit small for 5 people when beds were setup and furniture had to be moved. Take small collapsable bags that can be pushed under the beds. Ship Staff Quality
