The all new and innovative Viking Idun is one of six new Longships by Viking River Cruises set to sail in 2012. This 190-passenger, 443-foot-long ship offers new features for river cruise ships including the Explorer Suites - two 445 square foot suites that feature a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom as well as a wrap-around veranda, the Aquavit Terrace - a new lounge with retractable floor-to-ceiling windows that will be opened on nice days to create the perfect spot to lounge while enjoying a beverage or light snack, and environmentally friendly additions including hybrid engines, solar panels and an organic herb garden located on the sun deck. Along with fine cuisine, exemplary service and culture rich itineraries the Viking Idun will help usher in a new age of river cruising.
